Julie Moseley

Julie is a newly qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor who uses a pluralistic approach, drawing from counselling theories such as person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural therapy to tailor support to individual needs. She provides a safe, empathetic, and non-judgemental space to help clients explore issues like anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, self-esteem, and family or relationship challenges, as well as difficulties related to education and adoption.

Hello. My name is Julie and I am a newly qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I use a pluralistic approach. This means I can select from the main counselling theories to find a way to help you that meets your needs. I am particularly committed to a humanistic/person centred approach (PCT) where there is a focus on exploring together whatever may be worrying you and maybe using strategies from Psychodynamic counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to develop an approach that is right for you. This will be your time to share your thoughts and feelings in an empathetic, safe, confidential and non- judgmental therapeutic relationship.

I can support you with things that may be worrying you such as emotional issues, self-esteem, anxiety, depression and relationships. I can also support you with specific issues such as bereavement, trauma, family difficulties, parenting, phobias, OCD. I can support you in instances where you are generally unhappy with your life and cannot pinpoint a reason for this.  I have worked with clients from a variety of backgrounds such as LGBTQ+ and neurodivergence. We can work together to help you to bring about the changes in your life that you need.

I have a BA in Education from the University of East Anglia, am an ex-teacher of 30 years and an adoptive parent of 3 grown up children and a grandparent of 2. I now also work part time to support parents and schools in meeting the needs of care experienced children. I can support difficulties around education and adoption although at present I am unable to support adopted people and young people below the age of 18.

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society and I abide by their code of practice to ensure that I offer you the service you need.

I can support you face to face or online at the Cardiff Bay Office on a Friday. I can also do online on Monday and Wednesday evenings or a mixture of both.
