Rachel is an Integrative Counsellor with a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and membership in the National Counselling Society. Her warm, empathic, and non-judgmental approach encourages clients to explore self-understanding, decision-making, and life's deeper meaning. With an academic background in Behavioral Sciences and Medical Anthropology, as well as over 20 years as a Yoga and Meditation Teacher, Rachel supports clients facing challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. She draws on diverse therapeutic modalities, valuing the unique relationship developed with each client while enjoying activities like yoga, reading, and camping by the sea in her spare time.

My name is Rachel and I hold a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am a member of the National Counselling Society.  As an Integrative Counsellor; my approach is warm, empathic, non-judgemental and exploratory.  The space that I hold with you is one that encourages a deeper understanding of self.  The style in which I work is to ‘walk alongside’ you in a safe space within a safe and nurturing relationship.

Exploration may come in the form of better decision making, clearer thinking, re-evaluation of strengths or seeking a deeper meaning in life.  You may wish to explore the impact of your upbringing or the pattern of relationships that you find yourself in or how you can bring more meaning to your life.  Only you, as the client, know what it is that you seek and if you are not sure what that is, then I will endeavour to explore that with you.

My academic background includes BSc Behavioural Sciences (Sociology, Psychology and Anthropology) and MSc Medical Anthropology.  I have also been a Yoga and Meditation Teacher for over 20 years.  The experience that I have to offer is varied; working with clients with stress, anxiety and/or depression, uncertainty in direction, low self-esteem, anger and frustration, relationship issues, varying degrees of trauma, sexual abuse and assault, substance misuse, self-defeating behaviours, bereavement, motivation.

I draw on a wide range of theories including Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Schema Therapy.  Ultimately, I cherish the importance of the unique relationship that is developed with each and every client during their time on their counselling journey.

In my spare time, I walk my rescue greyhound, have a Yoga practice, read various books ranging from history to South American story-telling to classics. In the summer I love to camp and spend time near the sea cooking food outdoors.
